Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy utilizes 100% pure oxygen inhalation in a pressurized atmosphere. Within the therapy environment, air pressure is elevated to over three times its standard level (21%) in order to maximize oxygen intake. Once the lungs carry three times more oxygen, in high concentration through the bloodstream, cells are stimulated to heal themselves through growth and regeneration.

Your body’s tissues need an adequate supply of oxygen to function. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. Since the oxygen is pumped into the bloodstream under pressure, it remains in the blood longer.

Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Treatment Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) safe?
HBOT treatment is prescribed by a physician and performed under supervision. Although there are minor risks, like all medical treatments, overall hyperbaric oxygen therapy is extremely safe.
What does HBOT feel like?

At the start of the treatment, some clients experience a sensation similar to that felt while flying and/or landing in an airplane. As pressure builds, it is common to feel pressure in the ears. At the end of the treatment, as the pressure is released, the ears “pop” automatically. Most clients rest comfortably throughout treatment. Many read, sleep or listen to music.

How long does a HBOT last?

Allow 1 1/2 hours. Treatments last about 1 hour with 15 minutes to come up to desired pressure and 15 minutes to come down.

How many HBOT treatments does a client need?

For best results it is recommended to start with 10 dives within a two to three week period followed by at least 2 dives per week.

What are the risks or possible side effects of HBOT?

The risks of HBOT are very minimal and the most common side effect is ear pain.
