Akasha Kaur’s journey with Kundalini Yoga began during her junior year in college. While pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Carnegie Mellon, she met her first Kundalini Yoga teacher and began practicing in the style originally taught by Yogi Bhajan. Since then, she has studied extensively, traveling and seeking out reputable instructors including Shakta Kaur Kezios in Chicago, IL, Gurumukh in NYC, and Gurudass Kaur in NJ. Akasha Kaur has been dedicated to this practice for the past 15 years and is currently a Level I instructor. She is also trained in Radiant Child Yoga and Yoga for the Special Child, receiving certification in 2007 and incorporating various aspects of yoga into her therapy sessions with a diversity of clients –including those with developmental disabilities. Akasha Kaur is as passionate about bringing the uniquely scientific, spiritual technology of Kundalini Yogato a diversity of clients as she is about sharing her story of personal transformation. In addition to being a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor, Akasha Kaur is a licensed social worker and certified integrative nutrition/health coach. She received her health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, in New York City, and specializes in helping clients who struggle with depression & anxiety, gluten and other food sensitivities as well as parents of children with autism and other broad-spectrum developmental disabilities.
